Nolin Lake State Park was officially opened to the public in May of 2001. With 5,795 acres of lake and 333 acres of land, it has become the perfect place for outdoor recreation. It runs along the northern edge of Mammoth Cave National Park in Edmonson County. Great blue heron, wild turkey, sandhill cranes, squirrels, and other wildlife call this place home. When visiting, you'll love the mild temperatures, but you may want to consider bringing a jacket along for the chilly nights. The state park is slightly over 11 miles west of Bee Spring and 16.5 miles southwest of Brownsville.

Situated on the southern shores of Nolin River Lake near route 88, Dog Creek Campground has 70 campsites with modern amenities. The campground is the perfect recreational oasis for outdoor enthusiasts. All the sites are along the shoreline for easy access to the lake and beach.

Moutardier Campground
Moutardier Campground offers 167 campsites on the opposite side of the water from Nolin Lake State Park. All campsites have a picnic table and a metal holder for hanging up lanterns. Golf carts and mopeds are permitted inside the campground on gravel or paved surfaces.

Nolin Lake State Park
Inside Nolin Lake State Park
Nolin Lake State Park is a terrific place to go fishing; since the lake has an abundance of bass, walleye, crappie, and catfish, you're bound to catch something. There are also about 9.2 miles of singletrack trails for hiking and mountain biking, plus a small waterfall can be seen on the trail. During the summer, take a dip in the lake and swim the day away or relax on the beach. Picnicking, bird-watching, and wildlife observing are also popular at Nolin Lake State Park.
How to Get to
Nolin Lake State Park
From Bee Spring, head south on Old Bee Spring Road toward KY-259 South and turn left onto KY-259 South. Follow for about a mile and a half. Turn left onto KY-728, follow for less than seven miles, and turn left onto Orville Carrol Road. In a short distance, turn left onto State Highway 1827/Brier Creek Road, and then follow signs to the state park
