Things To Do Near Natchez National Historical Park
The best way to see this park is chronologically, so start at Fort Rosalie. Wayside exhibits showcase how this fort survived under French, British, and Spanish colonization before becoming part of the United States. Then, head to see the William Johnson home, which Johnson constructed out bricks that he collected in the aftermath of the 1840 Natchez tornado. The black barber and his family lived upstairs in this home, and the bottom floor was rented out to various merchants. During your visit to Natchez National Historical Park, you'll also want to take the Civil War driving tour, which includes 30 different sites.

Natchez Bluff Trail
Start the Natchez Bluff Trail at the Trails Pavilion. This trail runs by the Bridge of Sighs and many of Natchez’s historic homes. It is a looped trail, so you will return to the starting point.

Forks of the Road Trail
Start this trail at the Forks of the Road 19th-century Slave Market in Natchez. Follow the path down to St. Catherine Street and nearby locations while reading the informative panels to learn more about the 32 destinations along this route. The course runs by the All Color Entertainment Theater, the home of Natchez's first black physician, and Emile Angelettey's home before ending at the MLK Triangle.

The Nature Trail
This trail starts by descending the stairs on Silver Street to Trail Deck Overlook, where you can see stunning views of the Mississippi River. Continue your downward journey until you reach Roth Hill Road. Then, use a pedestrian crosswalk to cross the street and hike up Roth Hill Road until you reach the stairs at the corner of Madison and Learneds Mill Road.

Natchez National Cemetery
Burials are still held at Natchez National Cemetery, which has beautiful views of the Mississippi River. The earliest graves at this cemetery date from the 1850s. Among those buried here are Wilson Brown, a former slave and Medal of Honor recipient. Two Buffalo Soldiers and several members of the 58th U.S. Colored Soldiers are also buried here.

Rosalie Mansion
The Rosalie Mansion was built in 1832. When federal troops invaded Natchez, officers lived on the bottom floor of this Greek Revival mansion, and the family lived upstairs. The Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution has operated this museum for more than 70 years.
