This campground is tucked inside Harold Parker State Forest, a 3,320-acre publicly owned area full of white pines, backwoods roads, horseback trails, and 18th-century farming equipment. You can go mountain biking on the forest’s single-track or fish in one of the 11 ponds interspersed throughout the area. Lorraine Park Campground also features wheelchair-accessible beaches and opportunities for picnicking, hunting, and canoeing.
Lorraine Park Campground has everything you could want from nature, including lush foliage, towering trees, 35 miles of trails, and even terrain for cross-country skiing. When you’re done exploring the forest’s nooks and crannies, head over to one of the nearby towns such as Andover or North Reading for some grub. Just 3 miles away from the Harold Parker State Park sits the Addison Gallery of American Art.
