Point Beach State Forest lies along the shore of Lake Michigan near the city of Two Rivers. At 111 feet, the lighthouse in this park, called Rawley Point Light, is the tallest in Wisconsin. There is a campground in the forest, and, although the campsites are all wooded, the campground is within walking distance of the beach. There are hiking, biking, skiing, and snowmobile trails through the forest. Swimming is allowed, but there are no lifeguards, so caution is advised. Nearby Wisconsin communities include Two Rivers, Manitowoc, and Green Bay.

Point Beach State Forest Campground
Point Beach State Forest Campground is in Point Beach State Forest, making your stay especially convenient. Seventy of the campsites offer electrical hookups, and the campground has flush toilets, showers, and a dump station. The beach is within walking distance as well. Pets are allowed and must be kept on a leash. The campground is open for winter camping, but the shower building is closed in winter.
Scheffel's Hideaway Campground
Scheffel's Hideaway Campground is adjacent to Point Beach State Forest on County Road. They are normally open from April 1 to December 1, but they are flexible about these dates. All sites have water and electrical hookups, and some sites are pull-through. The campground offers bathrooms, showers, a laundry room, free Wi-Fi, and firewood and ice for sale. There is also a pizza place across the street. Rates start at $37 per night.
Village Inn on the Lake Hotel and RV Park
The Village Inn on the Lake Hotel and RV Park in Two Rivers is just across the street from Lake Michigan. Each site has electrical, water, and sewer hookups, but water and sewer hookups are not available in winter. RV guests are allowed full use of the shower, laundry, hot tub, and pool of the hotel. Mini-golf, a group fire pit, and a beer garden are also available on the grounds. Each campsite also has a fire pit and picnic table. Firewood is available for purchase, and RV rates are $21 per night.
Devil's River Campground
Devil's River Campground in nearby Maribel is open May 1- October 5. It is located next to a beautiful waterfall. All sites have water and electrical hookups, and the campground has toilets, showers, laundry facilities, a store, and a swimming pond. Rates are $34 per night during the week and $40 per night on weekends and holidays.

Point Beach State Forest offers plenty of woods, lakefront beaches, and sand dunes to explore. You can camp there year-round, although you need to be pretty hardy to camp in Wisconsin in the winter. During the summer, you can attend nature programs at the nature center in the Lodge Building. You can also visit the lighthouse at Rawley Point.
How to Get to
Point Beach State Forest
Head north on I-43 from Milwaukee or Sheboygan, then take Exit 154 and go east on WI-310. At the traffic circle, take County Road B north, then turn right onto County Highway VV, which turns into Viceroy Road. Turn left onto County Road O and turn right onto the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Turn right into Point Beach State Forest to reach your destination.

The park is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. year-round. A vehicle admission sticker is required.

Frequently Asked Questions About Point Beach State Forest
Spring and fall are the best times to visit Point Beach State Forest. The migrating birds, including raptors, are the area's biggest draw for birdwatchers. You can also snap photos of the largest octagonal lighthouse on the Great Lakes.
The Great Lakes create seasonal lag when it comes to the seasons. Each season starts between three and six weeks later than normal because of the effects of the lakes.
Point Beach State Forest features 127 RV campsites, 70 of which have electricity. Be apprised that between September 4, 2023, and at least the end of October 2023, the campsites will be unavailable because of a road construction project.
You must reserve a spot for your RV. You can do so day of or up to 11 months away. Because the park is public land, the admission fee is just $28 for Wisconsin residents and $38 for out-of-state residents.
You may bring a pet, but you must keep it on a leash 8 feet or shorter at all times. You may not bring your pet to picnic areas, including buildings, playgrounds, or the Swales Nature Trail.
