- Interstate State Park
Interstate State Park sits along the gorgeous Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway, providing picturesque views of the river and the steep-sided gorge known as Dalles of the Saint Croix. Interstate is Wisconsin's oldest state park that contains upland and lowland forest, bedrock glades, and many wetland areas. These habitats provide a home for squirrels, chipmunks, white-tailed deer, frogs, reptiles, and fish. Many migrating birds come and go with the seasons, like the bald eagle, waterfowl, hawks, trumpeter swans, woodpeckers, and songbirds. In early June, 160 bird species are known to nest along the rivers of the state park. Cities located near the park are Saint Croix Falls and Osceola.
