Penrose Point State Park lies near the southern end of Puget Sound in Washington. The park includes 237 acres of area that include a picnic area, camping sites, and a marine area. Penrose Point juts into Puget Sound with shores that extend along both Mayo Cove and Carl Inlet. Camping spots are designated for tent campers, RV campers, trailers, and group camping. On a clear day, the park features an incredible view of Mount Rainier across the Puget Sound. The small community of Lakebay, WA, is close by while the large city of Tacoma is only 29 miles away.

Penrose Point State Park is open for campers year-round. Most campers at Penrose Point State Park prefer to use an RV since it's the most convenient and comfortable way to travel. Penrose Point State Park Campground
The Penrose Point State Park Campground offers 82 RV campsites for tents, trailers, and RVs. The RV and trailer sites are limited to rigs of 35 feet or less. Every campsite is under the trees, protecting you from the summer sun and the elements during the rainy seasons. The campground is inside the park and offers flush toilets and showers. The park also operates as a marine campsite where boaters can tie to the 156-foot pier and sleep overnight. Dumpsites are offered for both RVs and boats at Penrose Point State Park.

Joemma Beach State Park
Joemma Beach State Park is a 182-acre camping and water recreation site just four miles from Penrose Point. Located on the western side of the Key Peninsula, the park offers fishing, boating, and crabbing. The park features a dump station for RVs as well as boats. The campground features 19 camping spaces for tents or RVs. The maximum size RV allowed is 40 feet.

Penrose Point State Park is a camping and marine park. If you enjoy hiking, be sure to explore the 2.5 miles of trails through the forested surroundings. The park provides plenty of beach area broken only by a 156-foot boat ramp. Penrose Point is a favorite location for locals fishing for crab or saltwater fish. The state park system provides dump stations for both RVs and boats at a low price.
How to Get to
Penrose Point State Park
Penrose Point State Park is easy to find when traveling from Tacoma. In Tacoma, find Washington Highway 16 West (WA-16 W) and take it over the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Find Exit 302 West that takes you towards Purdy Key Center. Take Purdy Drive NW for about one mile; then, take a left onto Washington Highway 302 West (WA-302 W) to cross the Henderson Bay Bridge. After approximately five miles, turn left on Cornwall Rd SW. In 0.5 mile, turn right onto Delano Road SW. After driving this road for one mile, turn left onto 158th Ave SW. The entrance for Penrose State Park is on the left.
