- Fremont Indian State Park
While Fremont Indian State Park was not established until 1985, the first inhabitants of the area were the Fremont Indians who built their largest settlement near these grounds long ago. Since Clear Creek Canyon runs through this state park, the Paiute Native Americans were also frequent visitors, and you can see evidence of both groups in the items displayed in the museum and the images in petrographs throughout the park. There is also evidence that Jedediah Smith explored the area in 1826, and John Smiley Lott was the first settler. Gain a deeper understanding of how each of these events shaped the land used by this state park on a museum tour. Then, head outdoors for some outstanding hiking fun or use the park to connect to the longest ATV trail in the world. This park is located near several Utah towns, including Richfield, Marysvale, Sevier, and Joseph.
