One of the reasons that people come to this campground is to play on Lake Arrowhead. This 14,969-acre lake is known for the quality and amount of white crappie caught there, and it is also a good place to fish for catfish. Bring your camera to capture images of the lily pads on this lake. You can also mountain bike and hike on nature trails spread across 300 acres.
How to Get to
Lake Arrowhead State Park
If you're staying in Wichita Falls, simply take Highway 281 south for about 7 miles. Then, turn left on FM 1954 and continue on for another 8 miles until you reach the park.
If you're coming from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, take Highway 287/82 until you get to Jolly. From Jolly, head south on FM 2393 for 7 miles. You'll then turn left on FM 1954 and take this for 3 more miles to the park entrance.
