The Pulaski State Park is in the northwestern Rhode Island town of Glocester in Providence County. The 100-acre park, which was founded in 1939, is officially known as the Pulaski Memorial Recreation Area and sits within the 4,000-acre George Washington Management Area. This day-use park offers opportunities for hiking, picnics, fishing, hunting, bicycling, horseback riding, summer swimming at Peck Pond, and wintertime cross-country skiing on 10 miles of groomed trails. While the local climate in spring and summer remains moderate, the region can get chilly during the winter. The charming villages of Harmony and Chepachet are within historic Glocester, which was established in 1639. Within a brief drive are the towns of Scituate and Smithfield in Rhode Island and Putnum across the state line in Connecticut.
