Tenkiller State Park occupies 1,190 acres of land alongside the reservoir officially designated as Tenkiller Ferry Lake (referred to as Lake Tenkiller by locals). Together, the land and the 12,900-acre lake create a vacation wonderland attracting visitors all throughout eastern Oklahoma and beyond. Initially created as a water control and power generating site, the lake is now surrounded by a recreational playground. The hills of northeastern Oklahoma are home to many species of flora and fauna. The spring and fall seasons present a gorgeous hillside panorama where burgeoning life come to full bloom. Tenkiller State Park Campground

Tenkiller State Park Campground offers 89 RV campsites. Visitors can swim at the beach provided by the park or in a pool. Recreational trails for hiking and biking, some of which are paved, provide plenty of exercise for adults while two well-kept playgrounds let children work off their excess energy. The campground supplies a dump station. Also available for fun family times are a basketball court, a volleyball court, and horseshoe pits.

Marval Camping Resort

The Marval Camping Resort lies along the Lower Illinois River nine miles northwest of Tenkiller State Park. It offers 80 RV campsites, 45 of which provide full hookups. Each site is 38 feet in width, making plenty of room for the fire ring and picnic table and any slide-outs your RV may support. Forty of the sites are pull-through and can handle rigs 70 feet in length. The back-in sites accommodate rigs up to 50 feet long. A coin-operated laundry facility is available for use by guests. A heated swimming pool, a wading pool, and the river provide ample swimming opportunities for visitors. A substantial playground is available for kids, while a game room, rec hall, horseshoe pits, and archery range make fun for adults easy to find. Fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing are some of the favorite activities guests enjoy on the Lower Illinois River.

Strayhorn Landing

Strayhorn Landing offers 43 RV campsites, all of which are back-ins. Like Tenkiller State Park, this spot is also on Lake Tenkiller. The campground sits on a bluff overlooking the lake providing impressive views from every campsite. Strayhorn Marina is close by as well as a swimming beach. A boat ramp is available for use. Jet skiing, water skiing, boating, kayaking, and fishing are Strayhorn Landing guests' favorite activities. Trails wander throughout the campground so that you can stretch your legs while remaining in the gated community.

The designated Tenkiller Multi-use Trail is 15 miles in length, paved, and ADA accessible.

How to Get to
Tenkiller State Park

Vian, OK, is the closest community to Tenkiller State Park. To reach the park from Vian, drive south on Sycamore road for 3.5 miles. Turn right onto Oklahoma Highway 82 (OK-82) and drive for 8 miles. Turn left onto Oklahoma Highway 100 (OK-100) and go for 1 mile. Make a slight right onto E0970 Road and travel for another mile. Make a right turn onto Ridge Road. The park entrance is one mile down Ridge Road on the left.

To approach the park from Muskogee, OK, get on United States Highway 64 East (US-64 E) and drive eastward for 34 miles. Turn right to get onto OK-100 and drive 3.5 miles to Ridge Road, then follow the instructions above to reach the park entrance.

To reach Vian from Fort Smith, AR, take Arkansas Highway for 2.1 miles, then turn right onto Garrison Avenue. Follow Garrison Avenue for 2.5 miles and merge onto United States Highway 64 West (US-64 W). Go for 4.2 miles on US-64 W and take the left ramp to get onto Interstate 40 West (I-40 W). Travel on I-40 W for 27 miles. Take exit 297 onto Oklahoma Highway 82 North (OK-82 N), Vian is 0.8 miles ahead. Once you get into Vian, follow the instructions above to get to the park.
