- Sequoyah State Park
Sequoyah State Park is an Oklahoma recreational area covering the entire 2,200 acres of a peninsula that juts into Fort Gibson Lake. The 19,900-acre lake provides some of the best fishing opportunities in Oklahoma. Nestled in eastern Oklahoma's hills, the lake and park present a spring wonderland of blossoms from redbud, sand plum, and dogwood trees that pepper the surrounding forests. The hickory, oak, red maple, black gum, and woodbine set the hillsides afire with their glory in the fall. From the peninsula, visitors have a ringside seat to the changing seasons. Located near the small community of Wagoner, OK, the park draws visitors from several local towns and more distant communities like and Tulsa, OK, and Fayetteville, AR.
