Pike Lake State Park is located in southern Ohio and sits on 587 acres of land within the Appalachian plateau. The unique terrain of the region provides the park with hilly hiking trails and a dense forest, which is a dramatic difference from the flat farmland of western Ohio. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities year-round such as camping, kayaking, hiking, fishing and nature watching. This park is part of the Pike State Forest, which spans 12,531 acres in western Pike County and eastern Highland County.

RV Resorts & Campsites in Pike Lake State Park
Pike Lake State Park has one campground that is open year-round and includes 79 campsites. Each of the campsites is equipped with electrical hookups. Visitors can expect to find a fire ring and picnic table at their campsite, and all sites can fit an RV up to 33 feet in length. Other amenities you can find at Pike Lake Campground include drinking water, showers, restrooms and a playground.
Rock Water Campground

Trackside Camping
Trackside Camping is another fantastic campground where you can stay close to Pike Lake State Park. It is pet friendly and offers exciting amenities such as golf carts, fire pits, and firewood. You can also visit the camp store on the park’s grounds to purchase supplies for fishing, fire-building, and more. The RV park’s website does not list the nightly rates, but it does encourage prospective visitors to call or to text for up-to-date pricing information. What to Do at
Pike Lake State Park
Pike Lake State Park offers many of your favorite outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, swimming and fishing. An 18-hole disc golf course is located to the west of the lake. Since the park is open year-round, winter activities are also available. These activities include winter hiking and sledding. You can also enjoy a portion of the Buckeye Trail, a 1,444-mile-long trail that loops around the state of Ohio and passes through the park.

Inside Pike Lake State Park
The relaxing and elegant Pike Lake offers visitors opportunities to go canoeing, fishing, kayaking, and more. Some of the most common catches that come out of the lake include bullheads, bluegill, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and crappie. For a laid-back afternoon or evening, you can visit one of the many picnic stations that come with a table and grill. The grounds of the state park also include an 18-hole disc golf course that you can enjoy with your family and friends. You can even spend some time on the beautiful sandy beach, which has restrooms, changing areas, and outdoor showers on the premises.
Fishing
The 13-acre lake features largemouth bass, channel catfish, bullheads, bluegill and crappie. A State of Ohio fishing license is required for all anglers ages 16 and older.
Stargazing
The remote location of the park makes it a perfect location for stargazing. The lack of light pollution from the big city makes it possible to find your favorite constellations as well as galaxies far away.
Flora and Fauna
A variety of ferns, mosses, lichens and fungi can be found in the park. Vibrant wildflowers can also be found starting in the spring and continuing through autumn. The state forest that houses the park provides the perfect habitat for wildlife such as white-tailed deer, ruffed grouse, gray squirrels and wild turkeys.
Hiking
Five hiking trails can be found in the park. The Mitchell Ridge Trail is 1.2 miles long and connects with the Buckeye Trail. The CCC Nature Trail is only a half-mile long but is considered moderate difficulty.
Boating
All non-powered watercraft and boats with electric motors are allowed on Pike Lake. Electric motors must be 4.5 horsepower or less. Canoes, kayaks and pedal boats are available for rent.
Swimming
A designated swimming area provides an excellent sandy beach to soak up the sun. The swim area also features restrooms, changing rooms and outdoor showers.
How to Get to
Pike Lake State Park
Pike Lake State Park is located at 1847 Pike Lake Road, Bainbridge, OH 45612. If you are traveling to the park from Cincinnati, OH, you can take US-50 E until you pass Bainbridge, OH. Turn right onto Potts Hill Rd and make another right-hand turn after a half mile to stay on Potts Hill Rd. Travel for another 2.5 miles and turn right onto Pike Lake Rd. Take Pike Lake Rd for 236 feet, and the park entrance will be on your left.
Entering Pike Lake State Park
The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. As you enter the park, the lake will be on your left after passing several picnic areas. Travel past the lake and stay to the left to gain access to the campground. If you turn right onto Egypt Hollow Road, you will find the park office as well as the dump station.
Ohio does not charge an entrance fee to gain access to state parks. The only fees you will need to pay are for camping and boat rentals.
