- Findley State Park
Long before the first settlers arrived, the Erie Native Americans inhabited the area now known as Findley State Park. It's heavily wooded with stately pines and various hardwoods and the forest floor supports a mix of woodland flowers that include hepatica, trillium, spring beauties, marsh marigolds, Dutchman breeches, and woodland asters. Raccoon, red fox, beaver, and white-tailed deer are just a few animals that live here. This 838-acre state park is situated in northeast Ohio in Wellington, and Spencer and Burbank are two major cities within a 22-mile radius of Findley State Park.
