This park’s name comes from being on the eastern shore of Rollins Pond. It is 442 acres and connects to Fish Creek and Whey Pond. Rollins Pond Campground is an excellent area to use canoes, kayaks, and rowboats. It has rolling terrain along the trails at different elevations, and you can enjoy scenic views as you go past the loops. The state park opened in 1951 to keep up with the demand for campsites. The cities nearby are Lake Placid, Wilmington, and Plattsburgh, New York.

Rollins Pond provides an ideal setting for water adventures like kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. The waterfront campsites are also near streams that connect to Rollins Pond, which allows for a day trip on the water. Rollins Pond Campground has an eight-mile paddle loop that goes through five scenic bodies of water in the Saranac Lakes. You can also hike on the Otter Hollow Loop trail that connects to the Fish Creek Pond campground.
How to Get to
Rollins Pond Campground
If you are coming from Interstate 87 North, then you need to take Exit 30 to get to Lake Placid. Next, take Route 86 North through Saranac Lake to Route 186 West to Route 30 South. You will also have to drive nine miles to get to Fish Creek Pond Campground to gain access to site 135 to get to Rollins Pond Campground. It takes around 20 minutes to get to the entrance of Rollins Pond Campground.
