Robert Moses State Park has a long history of pleasing beachgoers in Suffolk County, New York. The oldest state park in all of Long Island, it was originally opened under the name Fire Island State Park in 1908. Fire Island is a central barrier of Long Island that lies off the southern coast, and the state park is on the western end of it. It encompasses a total land area of 875 acres and includes five miles of beaches that run along the Atlantic Ocean. This public recreation area receives many visitors for its long beaches, local amenities, and beautiful scenery. Located just off the shore from Babylon, Robert Moses State Park is within 15 miles of West Islip, North Lindenhurst, and Deer Park.

Robert Moses State Park

Two of the largest cities close to Robert Moses State Park are Philadelphia and Boston. For those who are traveling from Philadelphia, start the route by getting onto I-676/US-30 E from S Penn Square and N Broad St. Next, you will want to complete the route by taking I-95 N, I-278 E, Belt Pkwy, and Southern State Pkwy to Robert Moses Causeway in Islip. 

If you are coming from Boston, step one is to merge onto I-93 S from Sudbury St. The second and final step is to follow I-90 W, I-84, I-91 S, I-95 S, and Southern State Pkwy to Robert Moses Causeway in Islip.
