- Highland Recreation Area
Located in the rolling hills of Southern Michigan, the Highland Recreation Area is comprised of an expansive array of ecosystems and unusual flora and fauna. Covering over 5,900 acres that includes four lakes, the park is a paradise for paddlers. The winter offers opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. This park is an RV travelers’ delight, too, as you'll find conveniences that include full hookups, visitor centers, stores, and other in-park amenities. Nearby, you'll find the communities of White Lake, Milford, Waterford, and Commerce. The Highland Recreation Area was once the estate of Edsel Ford, a Detroit native, and son of Henry Ford, the founder of the Ford Motor Company.
