Wompatuck State Park is one of the closest campgrounds to Boston, where you can find a weekend getaway and get back to nature without having to travel too far. The park has over 400 campsites and is a great place for hiking, biking, and fishing.

Biking: The Whitney Spur Rail Trail is a smooth bike ride, but there are also many single-track trails through the woods if you want to mountain bike as well.
Cross-country skiing: There are several trails through the park that you can cross-country ski in winter and hike in summer.
Boating: You can take non-motorized boats out on the lake for fishing, or just to spend the day on the water.

Wompatuck State Park
From Boston: Take I-93 S to MA-3 S to Derby St. in Hingham. Take exit 15 from MA-3 S. Take Gardner St. to MA-228 N to Union St. and follow that into the park.
