Illini State Park lies along the southern bank of the Illinois River, opposite the city of Marseilles, IL, which inhabits the northern side of the river. The park covers 510 acres of what was once one of the most revered PGA golf courses in the country. Today, this riverside park provides excellent fishing, hiking, and views for visitors throughout the year. Located a short one-mile drive from Marseilles, IL, Illini State Park is a favorite weekend visit for urbanites from the greater Chicago Metropolitan Area.

Illini State Park Campground
The Illini State Park Campground offers 100 campsites. Flush toilets and showers, as well as fire rings and picnic tables, are available. The park borders the Illinois River at a point called Grand Rapids. Some of the riverfront on which the park rests lies along the old canal built to bypass the rapids. The park offers hiking trails, biking trails, swimming, fishing, and boating opportunities. During the winter, the park becomes a winter wonderland.

Glenwood RV Resort
Glenwood RV Resort is an RV campground located inside the Marseilles city limits. The RV park has a total of 580 sites, 400 of which are reserved for temporary visitors. The park is full of amenities, including a combination park office and store that carries groceries and other camping necessities. A swimming pool and a pond stocked with panfish waiting for the eager angler are available inside the park. A playground, horseshoe pits, recreation hall, and nature trails round out any visit.

Pleasant Creek Campground
Pleasant Creek Campground is the newest RV park in the area of Marseilles. Located just 29 miles away from Illini State Park, this campground is tucked among the small hills and dales south of the Illinois River. Pleasant Creek offers RV campers 92 sites from which to choose for a temporary stay. Each site can accommodate an RV up to 50 feet in length. Amenities include a spring-fed and stocked fishing pond, a general store, a game room, volleyball and basketball courts, a playground, and a new bathhouse and shower building.

Starved Rock State Park
Starved Rock State Park offers 129 premier RV camping sites. All sites in the park are equipped with a cement pad to ensure a level camping experience. Water spigots and picnic tables are available throughout the park. Two restrooms with flush toilets and showers are found on the park grounds. The park rests along the Illinois River with great views from nearly every campsite. Hiking and biking trails run up and down the river as well as through the forested areas. Canoeing and kayaking, along with fishing, are among the favorite activities of visitors to the park.

How to Get to
Illini State Park
There are two main routes to Illini State Park—from the east and the west. From the east, starting in Chicago, take Interstate 55 South (I-55 S) to the Marseilles exit. The exit will take you south along LaSalle County Highway 15, which runs through Marseilles and across the Illinois River Bridge. Illini State Park is the first exit on the left. From the west, starting in the Bloomington/Normal area, take Route 39 North until you find the exit onto Route 80 East. Travel that highway to the Marseilles exit. From there, take the same route through Marseille to the park as you would if coming from the east.
Entering Illini State Park
The park has an official check-out time of 1:00 p.m. and a check-in time of 2:30 p.m. There is no fee to enter an Illinois state park.
