This stunning state park is located in the forested area along the Seventeen Mile River. This state park is named after General John Coffee, who served as a U.S. congressman and was also a great military leader for the nation. The park is spread over an area of 1,511 acres and serves as the natural habitat for a wide array of wildlife. Moreover, this state park is also home to a range of endangered flora, such as the rare cypress trees. The unique combination of wildlife, endangered trees, and over 100 different species of birds attracts thousands of visitors to this park every year. This park is in proximity to Valdosta, Waycross, and Tifton, Georgia.

Laura S Walker State Park and Campground has more than 40 campsites, and each offers full-service electric and water hookups to RVers. This park is surrounded by a 120-acre lake and is located near the northern edge of Okefenokee Swamp. All the campsites have picnic tables, fire pits, and BBQ grills for visitors. This campground also offers all the modern amenities, including fresh water, flush toilets, laundry rooms, hot showers, and a dump station. There is even an 18-hole golf course for families. If you want to explore the natural wildlife in this park, you may even find alligators here. In addition, there are several ventures for hiking, fishing, biking, swimming, boating, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.

How to Get to
General Coffee State Park
If you are traveling from the north, you will need to take highway 82 west out of Waycross to U.S. 1. Then, you will take a right turn and get onto U.S. 1/Highway 23 north to Alma. From Alma, you will take a left turn and get onto Highway 32 west toward Nicholls. You should see the park entrance about six miles west of Nicholls.
