Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is located in the Mayacamas Mountains in Northern California and straddles the border of Sonoma and Napa counties. Sonoma Creek runs through the park, and the campsites are next to the creek. The park is in the city of Kenwood and is just a short distance from Santa Rosa, and it's a bit farther to either San Francisco or Sacramento. The park is open all year and experiences most of its annual rainfall between November and April. During this rainy season, there is usually a 25-foot waterfall on Sonoma Creek.

Calistoga RV Park is located in the northern portion of Napa Valley known for its wineries. Calistoga RV Park is a premier campground with paved RV sites and optional premium RV pads. The park has its own restaurant and is only 4 miles from downtown Calistoga, the city of historic hot springs resorts. You can see both St. Helena and the Palisades from the park.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park
Inside Sugarloaf Ridge State Park
Sugarloaf is a scenic and interesting escape from the city. While in the park, you can walk along 25 miles of hiking trails that offer varying amounts of difficulty. You have a good chance of seeing deer, bobcats, coyotes, and gray foxes, and in the spring, there is an abundance of wildflowers. On a clear day, you can see the Sierra Nevada mountain ridge and the Golden Gate Bridge from the 2,729-foot summit of Bald Mountain.
The Robert Ferguson Observatory is located inside the park and features astronomical and interpretation programs year-round. There are three telescopes that are refracting, reflecting, and catadioptric; the refracting telescope, Project 40, is one of the largest of its type.

Sugarloaf Ridge State Park
The park is about one hour away from San Francisco and 7 miles east of Santa Rosa. It is 16 miles north of the town of Sonoma.
