Adams National Historical Park  

Adams National Historical Park is in Quincy, Massachusetts, and you can see the birthplace of two presidents when you visit this park. Climb on board the old-fashioned trolley to go to the birthplace of President John Adams and President John Quincy Adams. You can take in the history of four generations of this family when you visit The Old House at Peace Field. End your visit by seeing the stone library containing more than 12,000 books that this Early American family collected. 

Saratoga National Historical Park  

It feels like stepping back in time to 1777 when you visit Saratoga National Historical Park in eastern New York. The British are trying to defend the land against residents who have worked hard to build their homes. Learn about the tense strategy sessions that occurred when you tour the home of General Philip Schuyler. See the battlefields that shaped America's future and run along the path where the British troops ran after they lost on that fateful day. 

Women’s Rights National Historical Park  

July 19 and 20 of 1948 were days that changed America forever as they mark the dates the first Women’s Rights Convention was held at a site that is now known as the Women’s Rights National Historical Park in Seneca, New York. Learn more about the events leading up to the passing of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution by watching the Visitors Center's films. Then, take the short walk to the Wesleyan Chapel where the convention was held. Finally, tour the Thomas and Mary Ann M’Clintock House, where the amendment was written. 

Harriet Tubman National Historical Park  

Harriet Tubman put herself in great peril when she went to the south and rescued slaves and brought them to the north. If you're OK with venturing a bit south before heading towards Niagara Falls, you can visit her home in Church Creek, Maryland. The Thompson Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is where she worshipped, and the Tubman Home for the Aged is where she spent her last years.

Walden Pond State Reservation  

Long before Walden Pond State Reservation became a state park, Henry David Thoreau's "Walden" was inspired by its beauty. You can spend an enjoyable day following interpretive self-guided tours of the places he wrote about swimming in the pond and boating on its water. You can also see the single-room cabin where he resided. 

John Boyd Thacher State Park  

The Helderberg Escarpment is one of the most abundant fossil-bearing formations in the world, and it's also home to John Boyd Thacher State Park. Stroll along its limestone cliffs, open fields, forests, and rocky slopes as fossils are still being unearthed today. Don't spend all your time looking down, however, as you'll miss seeing the stunning Adirondack and Green Mountain views along with gorgeous Hudson-Mohawk Valley views from this state park. Get an adrenaline high by completing the 60 aerial games, 15 ziplines, and the 40-foot jump that make up the Adventure Course at this state park. 

Taughannock Falls State Park  

If you're looking for a relaxing day at a lake, then Taughannock Falls State Park may be the perfect spot to stop on your Boston to Niagara Falls road trip. Refresh yourself with a swim at the South Point guarded swim area, where you can also build sandcastles on the beach. This park has a boat ramp so that you can play on the water. There are miles of trails to enjoy, and you will not want to miss wading in the creek. Grab your camera and head to the 215-foot-tall waterfall to capture some beautiful nature images. 

Watkins Glen State Park  

It's pretty awe-inspiring to stand next to the creek at Watkins Glen State Park. See the rapidly moving water as you stand high on the cliffs looking down on it. As it roars to the bottom, forming 19 beautiful waterfalls. Swim some laps in this park’s swimming pool during the warmer months. This park is a year-round favorite because you can go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. 

Letchworth State Park  

Once you arrive at Letchworth State Park, it's easy to see why it's nicknamed the Grand Canyon of the East. Explore this beautiful setting by hiking on some of the 66 miles of available hiking trails. Thrill-seekers will want to go whitewater rafting on the Genesee River, while romantics will want to take a hot air balloon ride over the park. The open-air concerts are superb here if you can get your schedule to coordinate with one of their frequent performances.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame  

See over 40,000-square feet of basketball history at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts. Stroll through the hall of fame to learn more about the 300 men who have been inducted into this hall of fame. 

Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House  

See the 1657 Manor home owned by Louisa May Alcott’s father, where she lived and wrote Little Women. The home is filled with numerous period pieces. Then, tour the beautiful garden surrounding this home. 

National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum  

Start your visit on the second floor of this museum, where you can learn how the game of baseball has changed over time. Learn the stories of players from many different races who have impacted America’s game and the role that women have played in baseball. Then, move on to see the Baseball Hall of Fame, where you can learn more about the game’s greatest players. 

Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Garden  

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Garden is one of a handful of large Victorian conservatories in America and one of two with a tri-dome design. The building was constructed in 1897, and you can see many unusual plants when you stop here on your Boston to Niagara Falls RV road trip. Consider taking one of the guided tours to learn more about the city’s history as well as the plants.

Springfield Massachusetts  

Dr. Seuss proudly called Springfield, Massachusetts, home, and you'll be glad that you stopped and visited this community. Since 1962, the Springfield RV, Camping and Outdoor Show has grown to become one of the largest in New England. Consider camping at the Northampton/Springfield KOA, where you can use the dump station.

Albany New York  

You'll love the craft beverage brewers in downtown Albany, New York, as well as this city’s historical architecture. Consider camping at Schodack Island State Park or Cherry Plain State Park. Thompson's Lake State Park has a dump station, as does the Albany County Water Purification District. 

Cooperstown New York  

There are many things to see in Cooperstown, including visiting The Farm Museum and Fenimore Art Museum. Consider camping in nearby Oneonta, New York, at Deer Haven Campground and Cabins, where you can use the dump station. You can also reserve a spot at Susquehanna Trail Campground. There is a dump station at Glimmerglass State Park as well. 

Buffalo New York  

You have almost completed your road trip from Boston to Niagara Falls when you pull into Buffalo, New York. You may still want to take time to explore the Buffalo Zoo and the waterfront area, however. Think about camping at Skyline Camping Resort or Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground.
