Delaware Avenue House
The home in which President Roosevelt took the inaugural oath has been meticulously preserved and is the main attraction at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site. Visitors can move between rooms where President Roosevelt and the cabinet of President McKinley made vital decisions following President McKinley’s assassination. Guided tours are available that tell the tale of what happened in those critical days following the assassination of McKinley and the inauguration of Roosevelt. Guest speakers, historical re-enactments, and special presentations that take place at the Delaware Avenue House are listed on the historical site’s website.
