Things To Do Near Pipe Spring National Monument
The Pipe Spring National Monument offers plenty of things to do as you learn about the Mormons and Native Americans who once lived there. During the summer, you can tour the farm that still grows the same produce that the settlers did along with the orchards that grow apples and other fruits. Whipple's cholla with bright yellow flowers is just one of the wild plants that you'll see on your trip.

Ridge Trail
The Ridge Trail is a small loop that takes you back to your starting point and features large signs. Those signs point to different landmarks, and they also let you know more about the area's natural history. Once you reach the highest point, you'll find a great view of Winsor Castle. The Ridge Trail is the only trail near the monument.

Winsor Castle
Though the Mormons lived near Pipe Spring for many years, it wasn't until 1870 that they built Winsor Castle. It served as a fort to protect them from native tribes and as a ranch where they raised cattle. You can now tour the castle and move through the two gated walls that protected it and the two buildings inside. A living history table inside the courtyard features replicas of tools and other supplies that they used and goes along with the historic artifacts on display in the main building.

Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians Visitor Center and Museum
When you visit Pipe Spring National Monument, stop by the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians Visitor Center and Museum, which is right inside the main gate. This joint center offers brochures on the Grand Canyon National Park and other nearby attractions. Housed inside large glass displays are artifacts owned by Native Americans and Mormons. You can also get a map of the area to find your way to local landmarks or learn more about the wild animals you'll often see.

Redstone Theater
The Redstone Theater is one of the oldest performing arts centers in the area. Though the schedule changes often, the theater features both local and national productions. Some limited-time performances are also available that run for only one night. The theater is close to popular restaurants where you can grab a bite before a show.

Red Pueblo Museum and Heritage Park
Located near the Pipe Spring National Monument, the Red Pueblo Museum and Heritage Park offers a look at the lives of early settlers and pioneers. A local expert is on hand to explain how people used the pottery and tools inside the museum, some of which are more than 1,000 years old. After looking over the arrowheads and other artifacts, head outside to explore the recreations of pioneer homes and other buildings.

Kanab Heritage House Museum
Pioneers from the Mormon Church arrived in Kanab in 1864 and lived peacefully with the Paiute people. They established a small fort and later built a town nearby that would become Kanab. The Kanab Heritage House Museum pays homage to those settlers and sits inside one of the city's oldest homes. Different demonstrations held every year help you learn how to bake pies from scratch or make jams.

Frontier Movie Town and Little Hollywood Museum
Kanab made its first on-screen appearance in 1924, and you can watch that film at the Frontier Movie Town and Little Hollywood Museum. The Frontier Movie Town section includes a large recreation of a Wild West town where you can pose for pictures and see landmarks used in iconic films. Inside the Little Hollywood Museum are stills and memorabilia from films that shot in the area over the years. There's also a chuckwagon where you can grab a meal.
