Riding Mountain National Park

Riding Mountain National Park is a beautiful mix of grasslands, forests, wetlands, and lakes in Manitoba Canada. This 1,146 square mile park protects three different ecosystems and gives visitors a variety of landscapes to enjoy. The park is open year round, but the facilities are only available during the summer months. During the summer visitors to the park can enjoy swimming and kayaking around the many lakes including Clear Lake, Lake Audy, and Moon Lake. There are also many fantastic hiking and cycling trails throughout the park from easy short walks over the boardwalks to difficult excursions through the wild backcountry. If you’re looking to relax after a hike, pack a lunch and spend the day at the beach, or explore some of the 15 picnic sites throughout the park. Visitors can also keep an eye out for wildlife including bison, moose, and black bears. In winter many of the trails become excellent paths for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The town of Wasagaming sits within the parks boundaries and is a central hub for shopping, dining, exploring, and camping. You’ll find many trails nearby, as well as the major RV campground in the park. There’s even a golf course and tennis courts in the town.
