Gulf Islands National Park Reserve is a collection of reefs, islands, and islets located in British Columbia off the eastern coast of Vancouver Island. This beautiful national park is the only place in Canada that has a Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild but wet winters. The park is full of amazing wildlife to watch like seals, porpoises, otters, and orca whales. Explore some of the 15 islands and 30 smaller islets in this 14 square mile park. Summer is the best time to visit this national park, as many of the islands can only be accessed by kayak, sailboat, or power boat. Summer weather is dry and warm, making it a fantastic place to hike, camp, and play in the water. Spend your time at the park kayaking, take a scenic boat tour around the islands, or keep an eye out for the incredibly diverse wildlife in the area, including 15 endangered species of animals. And if you’re craving some time alone in nature, you can even leave the RV behind and paddle to some of these remote islands to dry tent camp.
