- Glacier National Park
Montana's Glacier National Park features stunning views of the glacier-covered northern Rocky Mountains. Hit elevations of more than 6,800 feet on the Going to the Sun Road, which passes through the park. During your visit, go boating on Lake McDonald or check out Many and Grinnell glaciers. If you're looking for RV rentals near Glacier National Park, you'll be able to find plenty of options in Kalispell, Whitefish, Missoula and other nearby cities. Vehicles over 21 feet long are restricted from traveling along the Going to the Sun Road due to tight turns and limited parking. If you're visiting in a larger RV, consider using one of the park's shuttle bus services to take a tour. Additionally, during the summer, both car and RV parking in Glacier National Park are limited, so vehicle reservations are required in advance. This applies to three areas of the park: Going-to-the-Sun Road (coming from the west), the North Fork, and Many Glacier, from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Weather conditions in the park tend to be best during the summer months. However, driving to Glacier National Park is possible any time of year. The park receives a large amount of snowfall during the winter months, and temperatures tend to remain far below freezing. However, you'll be able to enjoy snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the park during the winter months. You can always check road and weather conditions on the park's website and get more information at one of the three visitors centers: Logan Pass (daily, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.), St. Mary (daily, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.), and Apgar (daily, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.).
