RVing to Everglades National Park is a unique experience that lets you explore all the popular sites at your own pace. You can park your rig at the Royal Palm Visitor Center, take a leisurely hike on the Anhinga Trail, and then head over to the HM69 Nike Missile Base for a ranger-guided tour. The best time of year to visit is during the dry season, between December and April. The temperature is mild during these months, and you’ll have a better chance of seeing wildlife than if you go during the wet season.

Everglades National Park is open 24/7, and park rangers are available at the visitor centers from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To enter the park, you must purchase a pass in advance and present either the hard copy or a mobile copy at the entrance. A seven-day pass costs $35, but you might want to get a 12-month pass for $70 if you plan to visit frequently.

Three park entrances are available, but the best one to use is the Royal Palm entrance in Homestead since it’s set right in the heart of the Everglades. The largest RV you can take into the park is 45 feet long. Not every campsite can accommodate a rig of that size, though, so make sure you pay attention when booking your site. Before you set out on your Everglades adventure, check the National Park Service website for the latest information on road closures to help you get there safely.
