Wupperman Campground is a Hinsdale County park set on the east side of Lake San Cristobal. The sites have gorgeous views overlooking the lake. The campground is rustic, with no hookups, but the views are worth the inconvenience. There are many miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and ATVs. Wupperman Campground is 35 miles from the Old Hundred Mine.
The setting on Lake San Cristobal is beautiful and the fishing is good. There are boat docks on the west side of Lake San Cristobal for public use and 7 boat slips for overnight use at $8 per day. Lake City also has some nice shopping.
“Rustic campground in a spectacular setting above Lake San Cristobal. Road in is narrow and a bit rough but we saw some pretty big 5th wheels camped in the upper campground. Really a beautiful area with access to miles of hiking trails and ATV roads that reach all the way to Silverton CO.
