Wolf Creek State Park is one of the biggest Charleston-Mattoon, Illinois campgrounds, and it is on the banks of Lake Shelbyville. This RV park is surrounded by water on nearly every side, and it offers limited hookups. Also, there are plenty of trails to choose from at Wolf Creek State Park.
Wolf Creek State Park is the perfect place to commune with ture. It’s common to encounter deer at your campsite, and you might even spot a box turtle at this campground if you’re lucky. Best of all, every site at Wolf Creek State Park includes a campfire ring.
“We have been camping here a few times of in the past 5-6 years and have always enjoyed it. It is usually pretty quiet with plenty of open spots. The campsites are mostly flat with a good amount on space in between. The sites are well maintained and most of them have a good amount of shade. My only complaint is that the shower house and bathroom could be better maintained.” – Blake, Google Review
