You’ll get a glimpse of the Green and Adirondack Mountains from Thacher State Park in Voorheesville. RV camping near Albany doesn’t get any more rustic than at this park’s campground on Thompson’s Lake. Be sure to bring all the necessary food and supplies since stores are not readily available in this area.
This wooded campground may have just a few RV hookups, but it’s teeming with beauty and fun. Regardless of the season, you can stay active while you’re parked along Thompson’s Lake. The summertime is great for volleyball and boating whereas the wintertime inspires folks to ice fish and ski.
“Quiet, family-friendly, more tenters than RVs. If you want more privacy and more 'woods' definitely ask for Loop B…But anyone who wants quick lake or playground access needs to stay in the loops near the entrance…” – Elizabeth, Trip Advisor Review
