Tailwater West Campground, located at the Coralville Lake Project, is part of a local recreational and wildlife management program. Boating, hiking, mountain biking, camping, fishing, and swimming are popular here. Situated north of Iowa City, Tailwater West Campground is heavily wooded and teeming with wildlife.
If you love to watch animals in their natural habitat, you’ll probably see deer, turkeys, birds, pheasants, and many other animals during your stay at this campground. Those who love to fish can hope to catch bass, walleye, crappie, and catfish. Hikers may be challenged by Squire Point Trail or the Tailwater Riverwalk.
“It was a really nice place to stay. We went swimming during the day. Nice place to swim, lay out, and picnic. Campground had bathrooms and showers.” – Jeanna, Google Review
