Skidaway Island State Park is an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise that’s equidistant to Savannah and the Atlantic beaches in Georgia. Several rivers snake their way around the campground, making it an ideal place for swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boating. Skidaway River feeds into both the Vernon River and Wilmington River, both of which lead directly to the Atlantic Ocean.
In addition to all the water-related fun you and your family can have when staying at Skidaway Island State Park, there is Colonial Coast Birding Trail where hundreds of native species of birds can be seen in their natural habitat. The park features three playgrounds and multiple picnic shelters.
“We love it here. Always stop for a few days on our trip to Florida. Nice huge sites and well-maintained with friendly people. Quiet and not bunched together. Savannah is nearby with plenty of places to eat and visit.” – Fred, Google Review
