Saddlehorn Campground is the only official campground at Colorado National Monument. It is located about 17 miles from Grand Junction. Saddlehorn is a government-run campground and does not currently provide big-rig accommodations.
This is the Grand Junction, Colorado, campground for RVers who want to get away from it all and really camp in Colorado National Monument. The man-made amenities here are few. However, this area boasts natural amenities that cannot be found anywhere else near Grand Junction.
“What a wonderful campground! Coming off of a two-month road trip, I felt I had seen enough campgrounds to post a few reviews of my favorites and my not so favorites. This one is definitely a fave. High elevation, so be wary of the possible wind. But overall, such a great location. Bathrooms are so clean, featuring running water! Flushing toilets! All the loops are nice; we chose a spot in A loop that had level ground. Plus, Window Rock Trail is just around the bend, which offers a truly amazing view of the canyon. Be sure to stay here if you get the chance!” – Emma, Google Review
