Founded in 1936, Prince William Forest Park has become one of Virginia’s most popular recreational areas. It is jam-packed with forests, streams, trails, and so much more. In addition to primitive RV and tent camping, the park has over 100 cabins nestled deep within it.
Prince William Forest’s Oak Ridge Park Campground is a 100-site park with rugged tent, RV, and cabin camping options. For a small fee, campers gain access to a natural wonderland located in one of Virginia’s most beautiful counties. If you are thinking about RV camping near Alexandria, be sure to check out this bike- and hike-friendly park.
“I’ve been coming to this park for years. Lots of trails from very easy (walk along a level path) to moderate difficulty, with some scramble and places with narrow and potential slick rock steps. I’ve brought dogs and kids. Everyone had a good time. Some very camera-friendly locations and the park rangers are very helpful. There is also a large paved loop that’s great for road bikes looking to ride without traffic to worry about.” – Jonathan, Google review
