Rantoul is a nearby town where you can camp at this average-sized park from April through October. All your necessities, including handicap-accessible restrooms, will be provided at Prairie Pines Campground. Although the camping sites are open during the cold months, no water is available.
This park’s grounds were, at one time, the Chanute Air Force Base. Today they house a comfortable, spacious campground with large sites and children’s playground equipment. Fire rings and picnic tables are available on demand so that you can sit outside your RV late in the day.
“This was our first visit here and definitely won’t be the last. Very well maintained and so quiet and peaceful. Out in the country, always a beautiful breeze. Sites are very spacious– full hookups, fire pits, and picnic tables. Washer/dryer, bathhouse available as well!! There is a Walmart a couple of miles away, which is a plus in case you need something! I saved the best for last, the staff– so warm and friendly. Linda, you are an awesome host!! Can’t wait to see you again! Very dog-friendly. Our ROCCO had a blast! We traveled in a fifth wheel.” – talie, Google Review
