Pine Grove Furnace State Park is a great place to stay if you enjoy spending time outdoors, but there is also a lot of history that you can learn at this park. In fact, there is even a furnace that you can visit where a smelting facility once stood. The Appalachian Trail Museum is also located in this park.
The lakes are one of the most enjoyable parts of this area. Laurel Lake, which is formed by a dam that was used to create electrical power, and Fuller Lake, which is the remains of an abandoned quarry, are both great places to swim and fish within the park. There are also some incredible views from Pole Steeple, especially if you hike to the top.
“What a great place! Hiking, biking, swimming! Very close to a bunch of local campgrounds. The Appalachian Trail Museum is pretty cool, and there are two beaches nearby at Fuller and Laurel Lake.” – Jon, Google Review
