Molas Lake Campground was voted the most scenic campground in Colorado by AAA. It is a 137-acre campground located on the Million Dollar Highway in the central San Juan Mountains. It has a 25-acre stocked lake and access to the National Forest via the Colorado Trail.
The campsite is surrounded by national forest. There are no frills or even electricity in the park, but it offers incredible scenery and access to a long list of outdoor recreation options. The campground is just a 10-minute drive from the town of Silverton where you will find grocery stores and restaurants.
“Great location with beautiful views and quick access to the Colorado Trail. The people running it are very nice and helpful even to people who aren’t staying at the campground. If you are going to stay here, make sure to get a reservation or at least call ahead or you might be disappointed.” – Ben, Google Review
