Lake Hawkins RV Park
Best RV camping in East Texas outside of a state park! Boasting some of the clearest water in East Texas, a huge white-sand beach, and Texas-size RV campsites, Lake Hawkins RV Park is a destination you’ll visit again and again.
From 1961-62, Lake Hawkins was one of four small lakes created in Wood County with earthen dams for flood-control purposes by the Sabine River Authority. Lake Hawkins is on the Little Sandy Creek which feeds into the Sabine River. The lake has a surface area of 776 acres and is fed by several springs which keep it noticeably clearer than most other East Texas lakes and at a relatively stable level even in the worst droughts.
“Mgmt was super friendly and accommodating. Beautiful park….well maintained. Allowed parking on the grass. Lake is gorgeous and has a large swimming area and beach. Large pine trees all over.” Yahoo Travel
