Friends Lake Community sits atop 60 acres of well-preserved land outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan. It boasts two beach areas, a lake, and a wood-fired sauna. It is even home to monthly Quaker worship ceremonies, which are held every second Sunday.
This Quaker-run campground is a great destination for those who enjoy birdwatching because owl, crane, duck, and geese sightings are nearly an everyday occurrence. Thanks to the deep lake and two smaller swimming areas, the park also offers ample opportunities for swimming. Guests can even rent paddleboards or enjoy a lakeside cookout or picnic.
“If I stay in Michigan for another year I will most probably get a membership. Such a blessing to go and forget about work and all else. Staff is very responsive and friendly.” – Hind, Google review
