For some unique RV camping in Kirksville, check out Fort Chariton. This restaurant and campground opened in 2015 and sits on the banks of the Chariton River. Visitors rave about the menu and atmosphere of the quaint local pub that’s right next to the campground.
Although Fort Chariton is not a vacation destination in and of itself, this spot is a great place to set up as a home base for day trips in the area. You’ll enjoy returning to the homey, welcoming restaurant for an evening meal. During the day, experience all that Kirksville has to offer with shops, entertainment venues and state parks. If you’re in town for a weekend, check out the free concerts and farmers market in the central square.
“My RV and I accompanied my sister for a Sig Ep Mom’s weekend at Truman and we stayed with the fine folks at Fort Chariton. Great place, great people, great food and they were very accommodating! We even saw the bartender out on the hiking trail! Great memories! Thanks guys.” – Betsy, Google Review
