If you are looking to escape from humanity for a few days, then the campground at Devil’s Run State Natural Area may be the perfect spot. You can swim, paddle or fish in Devil’s River. The surrounding hills make a wonderful primitive hiking area.
You will love the remoteness of Devil’s Natural Area campground. Beautiful hiking trails up and down canyons are abundant. Swim, paddle or boat on the river where your group may be the only one around. Note that you will need to carry everything out that you carry into this remote campground.
“You have to love the outdoors and want to see a place that few persons will ever get to in order to find this park. It is well worth the extra effort driving the 20 miles on gravel road. The park officer will be very happy to see you and share his knowledge and love of the area. Do go prepared with plenty of water and snacks and expect to not have cell service or see many people on the trails. Lovely vistas all around.” L279, TripAdvisor
