Spread out over more than 12,500 acres, Coopers Rock State Forest Campground is a landmark in West Virginia. Named for the enormous sandstone cliff in the area, this park offers Northern Panhandle campsites that allow you to rest up for your adventure. Whether you’re visiting the attractions in the campground and reading about their tales or venturing to nearby destinations to take part in white-water rafting, there is plenty to see and do during your visit.
As one of the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia’s most scenic destinations, Coopers Rock State Forest Campground provides the primitive features of rustic camping combined with the comforts you will appreciate during your stay. The area is filled with recreational activities to occupy your time, including rafting, kayaking, boating, fishing, and hiking. The park offers a clean and updated playground for the children to expel their energy, and the kids and adults alike can enjoy the grills and drinking water available throughout the property.
“Great picnic site. Take a hike out to Rock City and test your climbing skills; test your luck slithering through tight crevices, or your nerve, entering into cavernous tunnels. Walk to the famous overlook and enjoy West Virginia scenery at its finest. There are lots of hiking trails and a primitive camping area. There are several pavilions that can be rented. There’s also a camp store with a cafe for small eats. This really is an awesome place to spend the day. Enjoy!” – Jeff Facemire, Google Review
