Cape Charles, located 40 miles north of Chesapeake, lies on the coast of the Chesapeake Bay. Besides being a tourist town, it owes its economy to the shipping sector. It has two beaches and is close to the Cape Charles Natural Area Preserve, an important bird area and protected habitat for the northeastern beach tiger beetle.
Everybody will love this KOA but probably no one quite as much as your dog. This RV campground near Chesapeake, Virginia, gives dogs their own off-leash beach and park. Humans have a swimming pool, snack bar, pavilion, their own beach, and bike rentals. You’ll also find kayak and paddleboat rentals, a shuttle service, and a live summer concert series too.
“Surrounded by a wildlife refuge and right near the Chesapeake Bay bridge. We loved staying here. Private beach that rents kayaks and chair/ umbrella, two pools, a dog park and dog beach, great restaurant, well equipped exercise room, gift and snack shop. We found the resort so fun and relaxing that we rarely left. ” – Positive, RV Park Reviews
